To the US

"Jiyoon! We are going to US!" The second my mom said I was frightened. I did not want to leave my friends. But on March 2nd 2009,we took off to US. When we arrived at our house for the next two years, we looked around and met our neighbors. At first, I was shy and frustrated about meeting my new neighbors. Even though there was a lot of Koreans, I was frightened

The next day, I went to my new school for the next two years. There , I met Mrs.Archic, my new second grade teacher. She was very nice, but I was still scared of going to another school outside my country. She made me go together with this girl named Zoe. She made me get used to using English. So she talked with me in line, introduced to her friends and her friends even introduced me to a Korean girl. So I got used to it better and faster. Also Zoe introduced me to the school and the rules. She took me to the principle's office and introduced to our            bprinciple Ms.Nana  and our librarian Mrs.Esposito.  i said hi to our art teacher, gym, and music, teacher. So I got used to it and better at it.As she explained things in English, more I got good at it and the more we talked together our friendship got stickier
In conclusion, a lesson I learned is that when you get us to it even if you used to be afraid, you  can be really good at it as when I got used to using only English, I got good at it.So you think of this lesson when you have a frightening situation

  1. Kelly,

Great story! I liked your hook. I also liked how you told the story by providing important details. I wish that your third paragraph had discussed more how you overcame your fear of living in another country and how that lesson has affected your life.
