The Review of Matilda

 Genre: Children Book

Author: Roald Dahl

What's the basic line?
Matilda is ignored by her family from the second she is born. So Matilda learns to cook, read, and how to live by herself. When she was 7, the time to go to school, her father, refused but when he meets Miss.Tunchbull, the principle of the school, he just lets her go to the school. When she got to the school, she founds out that Miss. Tunchbull is the worst principle ever!!! She meets her nice teacher and a nice friend  Violet. She did really well on everything, things even Miss.Honey didn't know!! Matilda finds out that she has pychic powers. Also then she founds out Miss. Honey's secret which is that Miss. Tunchbull is miss.Honey's aunt and Miss.Tunchbull took all Miss.Honey's belongings after her father died. She used her pychic powers to help Miss.Honey. She made the chalk fly and write to Miss. Tunchbull to give back Miss.Honey's house and belongings. So Miss.Tunchbull fainted. When Matilda's family was going to move to Spain, she got adapted by Miss.Honey.

Do you like it?
Yes, I liked it,because I can relate it to my life.First, she loved books and got scolded by her parents just because she was reading a book. But I love books and I got scolded because I read too much books. So I think I can feel how she felt. Also that's why I tried her pychic powers. I thought I could do it because we have so much things in common. One time, I thought I actually moved a pencil with my pychic powers, but I found out it moved because of the wind.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate this book?
I would rate this book 9. Author Roald Dahl did a great job relating it to life. And also he made me like this book even more. But he made a too much fantasy about the pychic powers. So it makes my eyes hurt because I practiced too much.

To the US

"Jiyoon! We are going to US!" The second my mom said I was frightened. I did not want to leave my friends. But on March 2nd 2009,we took off to US. When we arrived at our house for the next two years, we looked around and met our neighbors. At first, I was shy and frustrated about meeting my new neighbors. Even though there was a lot of Koreans, I was frightened

The next day, I went to my new school for the next two years. There , I met Mrs.Archic, my new second grade teacher. She was very nice, but I was still scared of going to another school outside my country. She made me go together with this girl named Zoe. She made me get used to using English. So she talked with me in line, introduced to her friends and her friends even introduced me to a Korean girl. So I got used to it better and faster. Also Zoe introduced me to the school and the rules. She took me to the principle's office and introduced to our            bprinciple Ms.Nana  and our librarian Mrs.Esposito.  i said hi to our art teacher, gym, and music, teacher. So I got used to it and better at it.As she explained things in English, more I got good at it and the more we talked together our friendship got stickier
In conclusion, a lesson I learned is that when you get us to it even if you used to be afraid, you  can be really good at it as when I got used to using only English, I got good at it.So you think of this lesson when you have a frightening situation

Ode To Computer

You are so smart
You let me do art
And not only  that
You help me with math

You make my life so bright
You even make a shiny light

You can calculate
You connect to the internet

You are necessary
to me and to everybody

Do you know who I'm talking about?
This right here is a computer alright
